It was precisely that Don Tanu, with the flat cap and mustache that still characterizes him, that I watched from an early age while taking care of his pistachio. The dedication and passion towards this very rare raw material, which I filtered through the curious eyes of a child, have now become the same premises that distinguish the Don Tanu company.

From yesterday to today nothing has changed. The harvesting technique is always the same: the sciara, the pistachio plant that was born as a miracle between ancient lava stones and human hands, are the only three ingredients that are needed to obtain Don Tanu pistachio.

The pistachio Don Tanu was born on the slopes of the Etna volcano, from the lava ground of Bronte, city of the pistachio, in the province of Catania, in Sicily, 800 meters from the sea. It is the climate and the land of the island that gives the pistachio the organoleptic peculiarities for which it is considered the most prized pistachio in the world. The Bronte pistachio DOP has in fact a unique flavor and aroma on the palate and is unmistakable even at the sight with the intense purple color of its skin and the emerald green of the fruit which explains why it is commonly called green gold and is distinguished from all other pistachios in existence.

The shelled pistachio preserved in vacuum, to ensure its fragrance, is enclosed in a special box also designed as an original and elegant gift.
