Marven’s Above brand was created to resume and keep alive the traditional concept of authentic craftsmanship in the goldsmith’s art. Ab ovo usque ad mala (from the Latin: from the egg to apples) was a common expression among the ancient Romans to define something to look after from beginning to end.

Through Above, Marven wants to encourage a return to the purity of the origins, breaking away from the stereotype of casting made jewellery and industrial methods preferring ancient handicraft techniques with high artisan and artistic content. This pureness is also seeked in the choice of the materials, which are always genuine and precious: gold, silver, natural stones and pearls.

The four collections (Cinetica, Intreccio, Iris, Venere) take inspiration from nature’s perfection and the universal language of art, introducing small series of handmade jewels where classic taste and modernity blend effortlessly.

The Marven Atelier: Our Heritage

In the second half of the twentieth century, the Paduan goldsmith school transmitted a revolutionary aesthetic and operational philosophy in jewellerymaking where the artist-designer and the craftsman become as one.

Here a very young Venicio Bovo delved into the secrets of the artistic and manufacturing techniques of metals, becoming master goldsmith at the prestigious Atelier des Orfèvres.

Endowed with a very lively creative spirit, combined with a contemporary vision of objects, Venicio founded his atelier in Riviera del Brenta, between Padua and Venice.

At the beginning of the new millennium, Venicio Bovo welcomed his son Enrico among the Marven artisans. Since then, a new and prolific collaboration began: Enrico has always been fascinated by art and he has strong connections with artists, architects, designers and stylists with whom he collaborates. Marven began working for major international fashion brands, developing niche jewellery and accessories from the design to the final production.

Enrico’s creative influence, combined with Venicio’s experience, generates prestigious silver works and in 2014, they gave origin to a new brand, Above, specialized in jewellery.

Here, technical experience, artistic research and creative enthusiasm merge to breathe life into new and exclusive jewels. Every creation captures the essence of the precious materials, with ingenuity and poetry of pure goldsmith ability. These creations show unconventional and aesthetically accomplished forms which invite their customers to express their personality through jewellery is able to reveal the uniqueness of the person wearing it.
