Veuve Clicquot Champagne

The Art of Champagne

History - Maison de Champagne since 1772

Founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot-Muiron, it played a fundamental role in the affirmation of champagne as one of the favorite wines in the circles of the European upper middle class and nobility.

The Maison currently owns one of the most important vineyards in the region, both in terms of surface and quality. The 390 hectares are divided into 12 of the 17 Grand Crus and 20 of the 44 Premier Crus that make up the entire Champagne region.

An exceptional heritage built over the centuries starting from the first parcels and plots planted by the founder and then expanded by the various managers of Veuve Clicquot.

A heritage which above all boasts the imprint of Madame Clicquot.

86 % of the Maison's vines are classified as Grand or Premier Cru.

The latter make up only one third of the total vineyard area of the Champagne wine region.

The Maison's vines are located along the gentle hillsides, to benefit from the reduced thickness of the soil and the best sun exposure.

Since its inception, Veuve Clicquot has forged strong relationships with Champagne winemakers. As producers of grapes and white wines, they bring to the Maison a constant and quality supply.

The vinification and aging operations take place in the vast and numerous gypsum cellars that have become a Unesco World Heritage Site, located near Reims.

Under the careful supervision of the chef de cave, the vinifications take place in steel or in old barrels with malolactic fermentation and the cuvées are prepared using a high percentage of reserve wines, an element that distinguishes the style of the maison.

Tradizione e Innovazione

The Veuve Clicquot Champagnes are born from an approach of faithfulness to tradition combined with a bold innovative spirit, according to the motto: "One quality, the best".

A quality that has continued unchanged for more than 250 years and which takes the form of an elegant style, endowed with strength, energy and complexity.

A history of excellence, which currently, under the sign of the luxury group LVMH owner of the Maison since 1986, continues thanks to Champagne with a unique personality, always recognizable in their immediate elegance and their extraordinary refinement.
