History

Bottega Senatore is a company that combines the professionalism of several collaborators with the forty years of precious experience from a group of master artisans of footwear. I’m the founder, Daniel Porcello, a young entrepreneur born in 1979, with a professional background in the shipping sector. For years, I worked at an Italian shipping company, and since 2012, I live in Switzerland with my family.

The passion for footwear, which I have always cultivated, has led me in the last five years to manage relationships with Italian suppliers and artisans in the industry. During these years, I have noticed that the price of many products handcrafted in Italy is too expensive; prohibitive, almost impossible to buy for the customer. The knowledge of the territory and the admiration for the intellectual honesty of the work of these artisans, pushed me to found the Bottega Senatore brand, which transform the inaccessible into accessible!

The high quality of the Bottega Senatore products - and the direct relationship with these artisans - create an important and unprecedented synergy. This particular relationship means that every detail is evaluated, discussed and approved, so that the final product is available for the public at an affordable price, as well as perfect in every single detail. From beginning to end.

Introduction

The shoes that today I propose to my clients is the result of an intense collaboration with Master Artisans, strong of an experience handed down from father to son, where love and passion have made of having a really high level professional and professional background. . The products are created in the Puglia region in the province of Lecce, the materials are researched in collaboration with the artisans, throughout Italy. The goal is to achieve absolute quality and excellent comfort. Any passage is discussed and perfected, nothing is left to chance. Artisan work totally made in Italy!

"A Day With Artisans"

Every morning, in a small town in the province of Lecce, artisans wake up and after a walk in the historic center of the country, they are preparing to face a day full of candor and excellence. Loads of experience, the artisans check that all the material has arrived in the warehouse as clearly requested, after which, the processing phase begins, from cutting to edging, up to assembly. The eye is attentive to any facet, nothing escapes expert hands!

A weekly meeting with the founder and obligation, discusses the work carried out and the small precautions to be taken. An exchange of opinions, makes the atmosphere sparkling. Ideas never fail. A healthy environment, an environment that only in the realities of the country you can meet and experience them again. That smell of tanned leather, the noise of the hammer that beats on the form, melts and flows a truly unique energy.

Now it's late afternoon, the sun begins to move away and hide behind the sea, yes, Puglia is one of those places in Italy where you can admire the sunset even on the side of the sea, a weave of lights to leave you speechless. The workshop closes with the awareness of having created unique products, with a centenary soul and ready to resume the thread the next day! You return from families, a fundamental part in the success of any project!

The Materials

Sought throughout Italy, meticulously. Tanneries are our second home, we have the opportunity to live in a country where the quality and skills of the experts are excellent.

Leather

The leather with which our products are made, is the best that is on the territory. The artisans work with the soft full-grain natural calf leather. The nubuck suede makes the shoe refined, an absolute quality.

Soles

It is useless to say that the shoe does the sole! 1. We sew the leather sole for a classic, elegant and decisive fit. Obtained from the best cowhide in Italy, vegetable tanned. Tirelessly timeless. 2. For a more free walk, we have chosen to represent ourselves with the Vibram rubber sole, the flagship of an Italian company. Walking in any surface will no longer be a problem, keeping the style as an absolute basis. 3. Our sneakers have the everlasting 100% rubber sole called "cassette bottom". A light sole for a free walk.

The Construction

They are footwear made to last over time. Each shoe is made individually by hand by our craftsmen with different processing techniques, from the special processing called "Blake" for the classic, to "lateral" processing for sneakers.

Inside the upper an oval was obtained, where the craftsman wrote the size of the shoe and the number of the order form.

In doing so, the artisan can at any time go back to the materials used for the creation of the article. We have given an identity card to the product, a unique product of excellence!
