Classic Valpolicella - Wine Carved in The Stone
A Territory Steeped in History and Humanity
A territory steeped in history and humanity, marked by small stone villages and silent districts, ancient fountains and marble wash-houses. Dorsals crossed by long dry stone walls, the marogna, carved between marl and rock, in support of vineyards, olive trees and cherry trees. Ancient Romanesque churches raise the bell towers beyond the gaze. They mark the territory and merge with towers and ruins of medieval castles. Capitals marked by ancestral frescoes, remain a sentinel of the human soul. Valpolicella tells the silences and throb of a never tame humanity.
The Vineyard Beyond the Garden
Raised with the ancient Veronese double pergola system, the family vineyard is located just behind the villa, beyond the small garden. A composition of green that stretches suspended between the stone marogna and the terracing. Corvina gentile, Corvina grossa and Rondinella are our grapes. Rest on a marly, white soil typical of the Valle di Negrar. Sturdy rocks, fossil fusions between limestone and marine sandstones.
The Church Between The Vineyards
Next to the Villa, in 1690, a small church was built, still used for worship. The winemakers feared the adversities of the seasons and the climate. The presence of a small church in the vineyards was a sign of devotion and hope of divine generosity. The parish church of San Francesco has been a point of reference for the many districts and scattered houses that were located along the ancient Roman roads in the high hills. The bell still tinkles today and makes its voice heard among the Amarone vineyards.
The Cellar
Our Values
Passion, dedication and loyalty towards the mother vineyard.
A guardian family of time.
Elegance and beauty of a timeless Valpolicella.
The Villa
The Villa Mansion of a Dream
It is our home. Here, where our dream is being fulfilled. An age-old journey from father to son, up to the last generation of his nephew Francesco Ruffo. A fascinating story that starts simply from a rural house of peasants and turns into a villa of notaries of the eighteenth century.
Our home, the story of our story in a whisper. For our family a timeless sacred good that, from 1510, marked the epic of two Veronese families until today.
The Family Guardian of Time
Just enter the elegant dining room with fireplace to understand the meaning and the deep meaning of those who lived in these walls. Paintings of women and men who have conducted this villa proudly through moments of joy and sacrifice.
Ah, if the walls could tell ... Today as a family Ruffo we jealously preserve all the memories and life-pieces of our predecessors. We do it with a sense of loyalty and dignity. Every single object has a story to tell.
Generations Comparison
Gianfranco, Gilberto, Maria Chiara are custodians of time. We do it with our Francesco, the new generation, who has courageously decided to take the story by the hand and be accompanied to the future.
Villa of Negrar Terra Madre
Stories of stone and colors. This is the valley of Negrar, this is our Villa vineyard. The rose of the stone of Prun, the white of the marl of Mazzano, the yellow of the sandstone of Torbe. Ancient lands, shaped by the power of nature. The essence of our existence is hidden between crumbled folds and interlocking veins. Amorphous crystals that go back to the depths to become human nourishment. From the womb of this primordial land are the roots of the vineyard to drink the infinite source of life.
Our Wines
Our journey through history, modernity and the future.
A deep groove between vineyard, man and authentic Valpolicella.
Campo di Villa is a treasure trove of values and affections.

Campo di Villa is a treasure trove of values and affections.
Our identifying cru. The vineyard teacher from which everything started and where everything continues. The field of grapes that rises between the marls of the ancient district of Villa. An ancient vineyard that overlooks the Negrar Valley from above. Campo di Villa is a treasure trove of values and affections. The excellence of our family history, the...
A special dedication goes to the ancient Roman road where the Quintarelli Ruffo villa and family properties have insisted for centuries. A link between valleys, that of Negrar and that of Valpantena. A furrow created by man and never dispersed. The Strada Campiona is taken up again in the ancient medieval maps and, in particular, in that of 1746 by the...
The district that no longer exists. Contrà del Tono could be encountered a time along the way from Villa saliva towards Quena. In the beautiful original family map of 1746, edited by the engineer Cristofoli, it can still be recognized. Contrà del Tono is an indelible seal of the Valpolicella Classica. A village of stone and humanity that can not be...
