Our Identity
Volcan de mi Tierra takes its name from a real volcano, the Volcan de Tequila, located in the lowlands of Jalisco in Mexico. The eruption of Volcan de Tequila, which occurred 200,000 years ago, exerted a decisive influence on the territory and topography of the Jalisco region, creating a fertile volcanic soil, ideal for the cultivation of blue agave. Furthermore, thanks to the volcanic ash, the soil is rich in basalt and iron, which give the tequila its special taste.
Launched in May 2017, Volcan de mi Tierra was born from the LVMH partnership and the Gallardo family, with the aim of creating an exceptional and complex tequila.
The distillery for Volcan De Mi Tierra sits in the lowlands at the foot of a volcano appropriately named Tequila, which erupted 200,000 years ago but continues to fertilize the land for prime agriculture. Here, blue agave is grown and used to produce the Blanco and Cristalino, thanks to the expertise of Anna María Romero Mena, the mastermind behind this new Moët Hennessy label. Romero Mena experimented with yeast variations, agave selections, and multiple cask maturations to hit the final tones for the 100-percent blue agave Volcan De Mi Tierra, pulling from the rich soil and history of this volcanic land.

The use of a stone oven, slow fermentation in wooden barrels and cutting-edge procedures allow us to produce a tequila with an unparalleled flavor and aroma.

We combine the use of a mampostery oven and slow fermentation in wood tanks with state-of-the-art process to develop a tequila with unparalleled flavor and aroma.
Infusing Tradition and Innovation with Authenticity
At Volcan we infuse history and innovation, blending the best of old and new world. At volcan we use the traditional process of Tahona milling. This old world technique uses a large oversized volcanic stone to gently crush and separate the agave juice from its fibers.

Tequila Blanco
Volcan De Mi Tierra Blanco blends its herbal, citrus and spicy notes indicative of the Lowlands, and fruity notes found in cherry and pear from the highlands.
Its taste combines sweet agave notes with delicated hints of grapefruit, and touch of black pepper spice, resulting in a well finished balance.
Tequila Reposado
Tequila Reposado showcases precision and harmony between terroir and wood.
It is a blend of both American and European Oaks to exemplify the complexity and also finesse of our chosen agave.
A true expression of singular terroir focus with 100 % highlands. Interwined with dualty of oak and experimentation over time.
Tequila Reposado combines fruity notes such as blackcurrant, red apple, pineapple and well ripened peaches, with nuts and dried fruits. In the background, floral and honey notes appear, resulting in a smooth finished and unveils its best aromas sipped neat or savored chilled on the rocks.

Volcan de mi Tierra pushed boundaries of aging Tequila thanks to an innovative process: blendinf anejo and extra-anejo to reach an unprecedented complexity, removing the color and the most prominent wooden notes to keep the crisp flavors of the agave.

Soft and Sweet Tastes
To no great surprise, both the Blanco and Cristalino are smooth and sweet — but despite their similar appearance, they couldn’t taste more different. The Blanco (Spanish for “white”) — a common strain of unaged or mildly aged tequila that results in a clear-colored spirit — brings an unmistakable fruity sweetness with notes of citrus, pear, and tart cherry. An herbal base keeps the taste grounded and saves it from veering too far nectarous. To top off the profile, a dash of spiciness lingers slightly in your throat, without any burning you might find (and be deterred by) in other tequilas. We would take this baby straight up, on the rocks, or in a shot.
