Baron Christian Louis de Massy, son of Princese Antoinette of Monaco and Anthony Nogues, creator of the famous Grand Prix de Monaco, is at the origin of this exquisite wine brand named Baron de Monte Carlo, which belongs to a set of 33 luxury brands representative of the nobility and refinement that embodies the principality.

Our wines have been developed by Eric Bonnet & Yves Cuilleron, and renowned Ramatuelle winegrowers who have been rewarded year after year by the world's leading labels and food critics.

Baron de Monte-Carlo wines have been selected from among the most prestigious wines produced in France, each of our appellations among the best terroirs of these: St Peray, St Joseph, Condrieu, Côtes du Rhône, Cairanne, Gigondas, Chateauneuf- du-Pape, Côtes de Provence in order to offer the highest quality representative of these appellations.

Baron Christian Louis de Massy, son of Princess Antoinette of Monaco, Baroness de Massy and international tennis champion Alexandre-Athenase Noghès, is at the origin of this range of wines. The production is made by Eric Bonnet, renowned winemaker in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, awarded every year by the greatest tasters in the world.

Soil

The vines are located on the southern slopes of the Dentelles de Montmirail. This terroir is considered to be one of the most complex in the Rhône Valley; at the top we find soils of the «Triassic» period, 200 million years old, and at the bottom, more recent alluvial soil, then between the two variations of marls, cones, sands, etc. The region enjoys one of the longest hours of sunshine in France. The «Mistral», the north wind, ensures a good state of health of the vines and grapes.

Vinification

After harvesting by hand and double sorting, destemming is followed by classic vinification, best expressing the grape varieties and terroirs. Vatting for 20 to 30 days. Control of temperatures up to 28°c.

Tasting

A fine, complex, powerful and elegant wine at the same time! How is it possible? The terroir and grape varieties expressed themselves, a beauty. Deep ruby color, intense nose of jammy fruits, black olives and brown spices. Silky and elegant palate. A warm wine.
