Description

Grapes of Troia which come from the old city of Asia Minore imported in Apulia by Greeks, give way to a red wine called ”Castel del Monte”.

Selected and combined with other typical grapes of Apulia area growing on an hilly land facing south in a favourable weather give origin to a deep red wine with violet tints, the smell of fresh fruit, its taste is persistent, harmonious and round.

It should be served at a temperature of 10° C. and it allows a large possibility of coupling with rice stew and “tagliatelle”(a particular Italian noodles) but in particular with noodles with flavouring based on meats or grills or braised meats.

Soil: Hilly Calcareous with medium texture 

Training system: Vertically Trellised 

Planting density: 4.500 plants / Ha. 

Grape yeld: 9.000 Kg / Ha. 

Alcohol content: 12,5% vol 

Harvest: 2nd - 3rd week of October

Fermentation: The grapes, to the right degree of maturity, have been harvested, press and scraped, fermented in stainless steel tub by a 6-8 days maceration at controlled temperature.

Tasting Notes

Deep red wine with violet tints, the smell of fresh fruit, its taste is persistent, harmonious and round.

Serving Temperature: 18° C
