Ruffino - Since 1877 - Award Winning Wines from the Heart of Tuscany

Ruffino was born in 1877 in Pontassieve from the intuition of two cousins, Ilario and Leopoldo. Their ambition is that the wine appreciated in their lands can also please those who do not have the good fortune to be able to taste it every day, and live, perhaps, very far.

It was an immediate and swirling success, built on the goodness of the wines and on an entrepreneurial foresight in the uncommon times. In fact, the Ruffino cousins' wine was immediately liked so much, so that in 1895 in Bordeaux the gold medal was awarded at the Chianti Ruffino.

Successes follow each other and already at the beginning of the twentieth century these successes lead to identify Ruffino as a synonym of Italian wine in the world through Chianti. These are the years of the birth of a true icon of Italian enology, Riserva Ducale, which in 1927 celebrates one of the most illustrious admirers of Ruffino, the Duke of Aosta who had chosen this wine to lay the tables of the court of the Italy King.

Riserva Ducale is just one of the imprints left by Ruffino in the history of Italian enology, also marked by the iconic fiasco, the bottle symbol of the entire category of Chianti, known in the world thanks to Chianti Ruffino.

Rosatello Prima Cuvée

First Cuvée Rosace

A myth of the fabulous' 60s, a name that for decades has meant the whole category of rosés. This is Rosatello.

"Rosatello has four great characteristics: fruit, freshness and drinkability. The fourth is the possibility of combining it with almost any dish throughout the year. This is in summary his real secret "Gabriele Tacconi, Enologist Ruffino.

Behind the Wine

Rosatello is undoubtedly the best-known Italian rosé. A myth of the '60s, when Ruffino had the idea, then considered crazy, to introduce this wine that expressed the fragrant aromas of a white with the body of a young red. It was a great success and the Rosatello teardrop bottle is still a pleasant memory for many.

Today Ruffino decided to reintroduce Rosatello renewing the style without renouncing the roaring spirit of the original. Rosatello prima cuvée, the intriguing moment of Ruffino, a retro and captivating touch conferred by the elegant bottle with clubs that welcomes a fresh and soft, fragrant and sweet wine, young and refined. A perfect wine for an aperitif, which fascinates with its fruity notes and unique character.

Rosatello Prima Cuvée is the wine of sociability able to satisfy the most diverse consumption occasions: the intimacy of a party with friends, the conviviality of an aperitif or the light-heartedness of a party are its natural habitat.

The Moments of Ruffino, The Emotions of Our Life

The Momenti family includes 5 Ruffino wines designed to seduce a young audience during social occasions. The wines are characterized by pleasantness and ease of drinking: fruity aromas, low levels of acidity and a certain softness on the palate. The packaging is distinctive and recognizable both in the forms - a bottle in the shape of a bell - and in the lines, graceful and with liberty references. Five different colors and 5 different red seals, present both in the front label and in the upper part of the capsule, distinguish the 5 wines from each other and help to give a precise product identity among the elements of the trilogy.

Table Wine - Rosé

Still rosé wines can be produced with different winemaking techniques but all start with red berry grapes. The enological techniques practiced for the Rosatello Prima Cuvée is that of white vinification, which involves the use of red berried grapes that undergo the same production process as white wines.

The contact between the must and the skins is therefore avoided or maintained for a very limited period. A prolonged contact will lead to more charged colors, greater body and more intense aromas, while a shorter contact will produce fresher wines, with more fragrant notes. The wine obtained is therefore a direct consequence of the initial choices, unlike the salted rosés.
