In the mid-800 Bortolo Zanin opened an inn, which offered, between the various local food and drinks, even the "white spirit". Zugliano people developped a passion for the "graspe" so much that Bortolo decided to begin to expand the production of distillates. In the '40s, with the inn all in all closed, the son Rino continued the expansion activity of the distillery and aging of destillates, leading to fame the Cavallina Bianca brand. In the '70s, with Fausto Zanin the company expands abroad, in 38 countries. Today the distillery is led by Piero Zanin and his brother-in-law Massimo Fontana, which have enlarged the production to new premises in Zugliano, restoring the old mill acquired by father Fausto. Luxury Italian Liqueur - Amaretto

Obtained by mixingalcohol with extracts,among whichpredominatesas the typical noteof bitter almond, pure water and sugar. It is a liqueur with full flavor, velvety and particular that, with a history ofover 500 years, is among one of the great products madein Italy.

Amaretto is a liqueur flavor originating in Italy with a hazelnut aroma reminiscent of marzipan. Most Amaretto liqueurs have an alcohol content of between 20 and 30 percent by volume. In the German-speaking countries, liqueurs with similar tastes have been known as Persiko since the 18th century.

The term "Amaretto" is a diminutive of the Italian word bitter, which means "bitter". Originally, bitter almonds (bitter Italian almond) or apricot pits, sometimes even sweet almonds were used to flavor.

Amaretto is drunk pure, not chilled or iced, or as an ingredient in mixed drinks. Apple or cherry juice is often used to mix long drinks. The well-known cocktails with Amaretto are Amaretto Sour (with lemon juice), God Father (with Scotch Whiskey), God Mother (with vodka) and French Connection (with Cognac).
