Founded by two half-Venezuelan/Spanish siblings in Bassano del Grappa (Italy) in April 2016 with passion for authentic craftsmanship, contemporary design and supporting small enterprises with a meaningful vision, PORTRAIT Eyewear is the only brand in the eyewear market entirely influenced by contemporary art.

The shapes are the result of in-depth design research with experimentation at the heart of the product, strongly influenced by art-history movements and dedicated to iconic figures.

Coherent with the project’s art soul, the communication is based on the promotion of emerging artists in a fair cooperation that co- endorses both players; the brand and its fascinating testimonials.

In every art form, THE MUSE has always been the elusive figure invoked by artists to tap into their own creative powers.

That’s the name PORTRAIT chose for this interpretation of the feminine butterfly shape which recalls the iconic cat-eye silhouette. By giving it a thicker appeal and embellishing it with PORTRAIT’s symmetrical cuts, THE MUSE becomes a bonafide fashion statement that exudes an aura of elegance and courage.

In THE MUSE’s facade of a modern mask frame, there are some of PORTRAIT’s most iconic design elements. With its gentle curves that complement the natural contours of the face, THE MUSE is an oversized model that provides full coverage, ensuring to add a spark of sophistication to any style.

The Glitch series to which this specific eyewear belongs, have been inspired in the Video ART movement, where the artistic innovation happens within an intangible “place”.

The Glitch is an “error” that often becomes the element of beauty. Pixels, image fragmentation, noise and coloured bars are some of the resources of this fascinating artistic expression.

Having taken inspiration from Video ART, Glitch is the only PORTRAIT ® series that has been interpreted through a 2D material, therefore stainless steel. The metal is yet enriched with acetate and finishes that result from photo-cut and galvanisation, in different colours and textures. Limited edition eyewear of precious craftsmanship.
