Founded by two half-Venezuelan/Spanish siblings in Bassano del Grappa (Italy) in April 2016 with passion for authentic craftsmanship, contemporary design and supporting small enterprises with a meaningful vision, PORTRAIT Eyewear is the only brand in the eyewear market entirely influenced by contemporary art.

The shapes are the result of in-depth design research with experimentation at the heart of the product, strongly influenced by art-history movements and dedicated to iconic figures.

Coherent with the project’s art soul, the communication is based on the promotion of emerging artists in a fair cooperation that co- endorses both players; the brand and its fascinating testimonials.

THE EDITOR is a highly contemporary reinterpretation of the 60's ageless squared frame. To give a new life to this classic shape, our art director carefully picked the heritage features and redesigned them through the core elements of PORTRAIT's identity.

The result is an elegant yet provocative model which maintains PORTRAIT’s trademark that goes from the use of under-reliefs (embossments) and clean pantograph cuts to the balance between smooth and sharp edges.

The Glitch series to which this specific eyewear belongs, have been inspired in the Video ART movement, where the artistic innovation happens within an intangible “place”.

The Glitch is an “error” that often becomes the element of beauty. Pixels, image fragmentation, noise and coloured bars are some of the resources of this fascinating artistic expression.

Having taken inspiration from Video ART, Glitch is the only PORTRAIT ® series that has been interpreted through a 2D material, therefore stainless steel. The metal is yet enriched with acetate and finishes that result from photo-cut and galvanisation, in different colours and textures. Limited edition eyewear of precious craftsmanship.
