Italy is not only the place where the company is based and operates, but it’s also the main inspiring place and the moving force of the brand. I-I is a brand that aims to reload Made in Italy and create “Made in Italy 2.0”.

Today a product or brand is perceived as new only if its materials and functionalities are innovative, without however jeopardizing its true Italian roots. Italia Independent believes that creativity today lies in remixing different experiences and styles.

The association of materials from different origins and the fusion of tradition with innovation are the project’s philosophy and values. We strongly believe that our brand, although focused on eyewear, should be 360-degree effective from clothing to home decor, from glasses to cars, and this is what we do.

Italia Independent - Gilles 002LP - Laps Collection

Inspired by the automotive industry, the Gilles is one of the most imaginative among the Laps Collection sunglasses. Thinking of Gilles Villeneuve and the world of motoring we designed, for the model of the Lapo Elkann eyewear line, a frame with marked geometries and developed a type of lens particularly suited to protecting the eyes while driving.

Gilles sunglasses have:

- adjustable terminals

- four lenses, two frontal and two lateral with anti internal reflection

- custom nose pads with the "open gate shifter Ferrari" shape

The Gilles glasses of Laps Collection are characterized by handmade aluminum frames in Korea and embellished with screws and custom details with the Garage Italia logo. Their hallmark? The four lenses that make them up, two on the front and two on the temples.
