Ilian Rachov

The Master of Baroque

Ilian Rachov was born in Sofia and began his artistic career as a self-taught artist in 1988, making copies of orthodox icons and medieval frescoes, rediscovering and mastering ancient techniques by now forgotten. Currently many of his works belong to public collections of the Vatican, Ethnographic Museum in Hamburg, Rila Monastery in Bulgaria, International Don Bosco Institute in Turin, ... and private in Rome, Palermo, Turin, London, Tokyo, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, ... He created for Gianni Versace S.p.a. six entire collections with baroque designs still in use by Versace Home Collection. Some of the scarves and dresses with prints created by him for Versace have been worn by important people like Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Elton John, ... He also created three capsule collections with his own name sold entirely in Monte Carlo.
