Moët & Chandon Champagne - Maison Fondée en 1743
Maison Ruinart was founded on 1 September 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart. His uncle, the learned Benedictine monk Dom Thierry Ruinart had a brilliant intuition, developing the conviction that this new “vin de mousse”, born from the vineyards of his province and appreciated by the European royal courts, was destined for a great future.
The creation of the Maison Ruinart coincided with the dawn of the Enlightenment in France and the French art de vivre where the Ruinart cuvées naturally found their place.
The Maison, constantly in search of excellence and the absolute, chose Chardonnay, a rare and delicate grape, as the guiding thread for all its cuvées. Strengthened by its three centuries of history, the prestigious Maison has never ceased to strengthen the excellence of its wines, recognizable among a thousand thanks to their bottle with such a particular shape.
