There are destinies written in the stars. The fate of Fred Samuel, on the other hand, led him along a path studded with diamonds, pearls and gems of a thousand colors: a path marked since 1908, the year of his birth in a family of jewelry merchants, in Argentina. Fascinated by cultured pearls and recognized as one of the greatest experts in the field, the jeweler selects the most beautiful specimens and in particular a cream-colored variety with pink hues, now called «color FRED».

Colored stones give life to the creativity of the jeweler: in the early 1950s the royals of Nepal commissioned him to wear sets to match the saris worn at court. Inspired by those iridescent colored silks, Fred Samuel reproduces their beauty by exploiting the infinite nuances of sapphires and diamonds.

A passion that goes hand in hand with a fundamental impulse: the love of light, which blossomed in the sunny days of childhood spent in Argentina; leitmotif of Fred Samuel's creations, if not a real muse. This inexhaustible source of inspiration is combined with a passion for the sea: an element full of strength and beauty, at the basis of the history of the Maison.

An innate aesthetic sense and the avant-garde conception of the "jewel to be lived", which sees the jewel as the protagonist of female everyday life, allow the "modern jeweler-creator" (so Samuel defined himself in 1936) to give life to an unmistakable brand, immune to passing of time, able to express a modernity told in graphic jewels with modeled lines. From 1996 to 2012 FRED entrusted the designer and creator Yan Sicard, responsible for the creation studio, the conception, of numerous jewelery and high jewelery creations.

Today the Maison FRED reconfirms its unconditional love for light and color through creations pervaded by the sun, where the art of personalization and versatility find maximum expression.

For 55 years, the Force 10 bracelet has been dressing the wrist with infinite combinations, every day, fulfilling the wishes of the wearer. Timeless yet modern, also thanks to the possibility of interchanging the bracelet, this jewel has an extremely versatile unisex aesthetic. Orchestrating the unexpected encounter between a braided steel edge top and a gold buckle, two materials that were once totally opposite, FRED has left an indelible mark on the history of jewelry. The result of an impressive avant-garde vision, this bracelet has given life to a collection that is both casual and sophisticated. Great versatility and an energetic and cheerful color palette were then added to the original creative audacity.

Chance Infinie

Knowing how to seize the opportunities of life and dare. Break the traditional codes of jewelry by imagining jewelry with a chic but casual style, to become the one and only "Modern Jewelry Maker". It is the path that Fred Samuel, founder of the Maison, has undertaken and followed throughout his life. This is why, now that a new decade opens up, the 8 0 collection launched in 2016 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Maison, has been renamed Chance Infinie: the most logical and natural choice.

Chance Infinie comes to life by transforming itself into a talisman: the design is inspired by the lemniscate, a symbol of infinity and eternity. Without beginning or end, the motif symbolizes the continuity of an aesthetic linked to the history of FRED.

On the finger of the woman who wears it, the Chance Infinie ring exudes its own charm, like a precious amulet. Declined in necklaces, earrings and bracelets, the jewels outline delicate and feminine scrolls, instinctively arousing optimism and joie de vivre.

A vision embodied by a strong “heart in heart” aesthetic and carried forward also by style, pervaded by the joy of living so characteristic of FRED, with its vibrant freedom: freedom of color, for a creation of high jewelery to be worn every day; freedom to transform the jewel according to one's wishes; freedom to change style by playing with combinations.

FRED's identity is manifested in these specimens that combine technique and audacity, competence and intuition, design and creativity without borders. Belles Rives

Borrowing the colors of dawn, the transparent waters of the Mediterranean and the shiny appearance of the pebbles, Belles Rives tells of a Riviera hedonism, between the culture of doing nothing, casual glamor and joie de vivre. The gems sway gracefully playing with the iridescent shades of turquoise and lagoon green, cryosoprase and topazes, emphasized by diamonds or they welcome the subtle nuances of dawn with rose quartz, rhodochrosite and amethyst.

Force X Sunglasses

The history of sunglasses begins in the 1960s, when Fred Samuel designs the first model. The temples of this aviator model take up, thanks to the emblematic top, the code of the Force 10 collection. The frame and the ribs are in golden metal and acetate and in bright blue tortoiseshell.

This new edition also pays homage to a personality particularly dear to the Maison and to which Fred Samuel was deeply attached: Princess Grace, during the opening night of the FRED boutique in the Principality of Monaco in 1976, the princess wore the famous jewel on her finger. Fred Samuel had an emotional memory of the evening: "Finally, while we were waiting for her, Princess Grace arrived and inaugurated the place by cutting the ribbon. With great delicacy, she showed me the panther ring she wore on her finger: - It's a jewel that I love and who never leaves me, he added. (...) " Once again the sun of the Riviera crops up the universe of the Maison of light and beauty; a beauty that, with Ombre Féline, takes shape in the animal kingdom in a shining triumph of seduction.

The incredible yellow diamond, SOLEIL D'OR, which marked the history of the Maison, returns to FRED's heritage, 44 years after its first presentation to the public. With its weight of 101.57 carats and its "Fancy Intense Yellow" color, the SOLEIL D'OR stands out as one of the most important precious stones in the world.

Named SOLEIL D'OR by Henri Samuel in 1977, the solar brilliance of the diamond echoes the light of the Riviera and embodies the "joie de vivre", the optimism, energy and warmth that have inspired every creation imagined by the Maison since 1936. Now back at the heart of the Maison's heritage, the SOLEIL D'OR will shine during the first FRED retrospective exhibition to be discovered in the fall of 2022 in Paris.

The XL Reveal

Symbol of courage, power and self-improvement, the new Force 10 bracelet pushes the boundaries of design. For the first time, his cricket takes on an XL format, supported by a steel or gold cable. A stylistic choice that affirms FRED's creative audacity and gives his iconic bracelet a strong and presumed masculinity. Designed in white, yellow or pink gold, on a steel, yellow or pink gold cable, the Force 10 XL bracelet is interchangeable, echoing its original two-tone and bi-material signature as desired. Playing with codes and styles, it is also open to mix and match with the other lines of the Force 10 collection.
