The Italian Style That All Women Need
“I don't like to design in a specific style. I have this idea of the 'perfect wardrobe'; it must have some pieces that a woman can wear many times over her life. I want to provide the essentials of this wardrobe. My biggest satisfaction is to see my customers still wearing my previous collections. I'm not keen on being just a trend, I'd rather create clothes that make people comfortable in their own style, forever” says the brand's co-owner and designer, Silvia Mazzoli.
Who We Are
Ottod’Ame was born in Florence 2003 from the creative spirit of Silvia Mazzoli who manages to transmit the tailoring tradition of a made in Italy product and create collections with a contemporary and fresh style.
The name of the brand comes from the union of the number 8 which represents the first eight women who started this incredible adventure and from the French word for “soul”, because we put all our heart into our creations.
Strengths
Feminine and dynamic clothing, coats with a timeless charm, as well as bags and shoes for an extra touch of originality and color.
The Tuscan brand specializing in women's clothing has made its way by focusing on quality products at competitive prices and capable of speaking to an eclectic, curious woman looking for original garments.
Sale
The Tuscan brand focuses heavily on retail and the expansion of accessories collections to continue growing in the segment of the women's market with affordable prices.
It is a 95 % Italian production, that of the women's clothing brand.
The market response in recent years has not been long in coming: last year the company achieved a turnover of 15 million euros (50% generated abroad and 50% in Italy), expected in growth to 18 million for 2015.
Fundamental to the development strategy is the retail expansion plan inaugurated in 2012 with the opening of the first flagship store in via della Spada in Florence. Inauguration followed by those of the single-brand store at 35 rue de Poitou in Paris (France is the second most important market for the group) and in via Manzoni in Milan.
In 2018, a second store in Milan was opened in via Solferino, one block from the Brera Academy, a location that fits perfectly with Ottod'Ame’s dreamy soul.
However, e-commerce is not underestimated, in fact in 2017 the site was a stimulating way to communicate ideas and projects, as well as to show the product.
An Expanding Brand
There are many ongoing projects, a new, more spacious office will be inaugurated in October and the expansion of the accessories collection, including shoes and bags, is planned.
Innovation remains strategic: the brand currently produces two collections a year, each consisting of about 300 garments, in which distinctive signs are silks, wools, laces, leather, and items created from blends of fabrics: wool / leather, or wool / knits and silk.
Innovation that is also expressed in the capsule collections, with prints made exclusively by textile designers, on which the company intends to continue to focus.
Sustainability
Ottod’Ame has managed to develop the concept of both environmental and social sustainability; it is in fact a fashion that has made the zero kilometer its strong point, considering that all the products are entirely made within a radius of 20 kilometers from Prato.
Sustainability that translates into social responsibility: in 2015 otto d'Ame created a Sinchronicle capsule collection with the Venezuelan artist Maryangel Garcia and part of the proceeds went to support a project dedicated to women in difficulty, a project that aimed to raise awareness among women on the critical situation of women in Venezuela.
Ottod’Ame has also helped in breast cancer research and study funding for young researchers, thanks to the collaboration, started in 2012, with the Meyer hospital in Florence.
