CUTLER AND GROSS is an established British eyewear brand. It was founded by Graham Cutler and Tony Gross in 1969. The brand from Knightsbridge, London has a unique touch as it combines timeless luxury with the best Italian craftsmanship. CUTLER AND GROSS has fans all over the world who especially adore the sophistication of the brand with its numbered designs, while the logo is not present on the frame.
The 1395 optical pays homage to Thea Porter – the artist and designer who pioneered 70s bohemia, dressing the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Mick Jagger. Artful and eccentric, the circular frame is crafted with high-set hinges, rounded bevelling and Fender tips.
Cat-eye sunglasses take an irreverent turn, courtesy of The Great Frog collaboration. This iteration is crafted by hand to an exaggerated 50s-inspired silhouette and spliced by Dagger frontal pins in Sterling Silver. A custom Lock Down chain core wire threads through the temples.
The 9521 exemplifies the tenets of good design: simplicity and sophistication. Based on our archived 0521, this undersized square frame with 'Japanese-style' high lugs and our signature oyster pins offer a slightly more pared-back option which can be worn comfortably all day.
The 1396 invokes the spirit of David Hockney; the seminal post-modernist painter and renowned round-glasses enthusiast. This style is reminiscent of the artists’ favourite Cutler and Gross frame, the now archived 0736.

The 1390 is ‘80’s-inspired through and through. This rounded acetate frame nods to both our archived 0197 - originally made in 1987 - and a certain Material Girl’s visit to our Knightsbridge store in 1989.

The 1395 is inspired by the trailblazing fashion designer Thea Porter - the Queen of Bohemian fashion in the 70s whose atelier was in Greek St, Soho, London. Porter dressed the era’s musical icons, including Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Mick Jagger and Diana Ross.

The 1406 optical presents an understated alternative to our classic chunky framework. It's handcrafted from a single sheet of acetate that's milled with winged lugs and Fender tips. Cutler and Gross signatures – Oyster and Compass Star pins – add subtle detail.
